Is a section in the Forensic Directorate that supports investigation by processing images, retrieval of footages, audio-visual recording and analyzing the acoustic evidence.The unit is based at DCI Headquarters Mazingira House, Kiambu Road in Nairobi    

FUNCTIONS

• Forensic facial reconstruction and skull reconstruction.
• Biometric audio identification
• CCTV footage retrieval and analysis.
• Production of legal photographic images for court evidences, investigations records and identification.
• Receive, processing and analyzing image exhibits from crime scene.
• Audio – Visual evidence recording and presentation.
• Compiling the image data of habitual offenders.
• Production of security identification documents (National Police Certificate of Appointment).
• Keeping records of Police functions.
